Three years ago today, we brought Charlie home from Haiti. A crowd of nearly 20 family and friends was there to greet us at the Indianapolis airport! Although we celebrated last Monday (Memorial Day) with family & friends, we decided to make today a private celebration just for Mama, Papa & Charlie. Phil took the day off work, and we went to the Indianapolis Zoo followed by a 3D movie about sharks (G-rated) at the IMAX theater. On the way home, we stopped for dinner at the Olive Garden in Muncie. It was a wonderful, exhausting day!
Here's a brief recap of what we did:
Charlie petted sharks in the touch pool (both at the beginning and end of the day) and petted an elephant; watched seals and walruses showing off; saw a dolphin show, an elephant performance, and a demonstration of birds of prey swooping over the audience. (Of course there were many more animals we saw, too numerous to mention.) Charlie rode his first rollercoaster (twice), a pony, and a train. And, on the way home, Charlie spotted a rainbow!
