Today was Charlie's first soccer game! It appeared that the entire town of Marion was there! It is quite an impressive operation! There are 5 soccer fields with games taking place at the same time, every hour from 9AM to 2PM, involving kids from preschool-age through 6th grade. The sidelines are filled with spectators and a good time is had by all!
Phil -- who played varsity soccer in high school -- is quite the proud soccer dad, especially because Charlie (and we suspect R.J., too) shows a lot of natural talent for the game. If you are able to come to a game, you will really enjoy it! The little ones are especially fun(ny) to watch, as you can see in the videos. :)
Charlie earned a star for "Best Offense." His preschool friend, Dylin, played on the opposing team, and both boys seemed confused as to why they couldn't sit together on the sideline during the game. ;)
